Every year the Post Bulletin in Rochester had the contest for cutest baby of the year.

Here is Ethan's entry. We thought we would make his likes and dislikes a little interesting.

Pictures!

I forgot to mention that a few weeks ago, Ethan got his first haircut at Little Dudes N Divas. He did really well. Here is a before and after pic.

10 MONTHS

WOW!! 10 months have flown by!
Where do I start?
Ethan is getting so big. He is now into everything! He is walking behind push toys, waving hi and bye, shaking his head no when he dosn't want something. (Except his sippy cup, that thing he just throws on the floor :)
He is also starting to drink out of a regular "big boy" cup. He thinks it's the coolest thing! It is also fun to watch him trying all new finger foods that we eat, even though it can be pretty messy sometimes.
We finally out baby latches on the kitchen cabinets, he has learned how to open those and the oven.

The last 3 days have been rough for him. Because of his re-occuring ear infections, he had to get a shot once a day for 3 days of an antibiotic. They did this because he had had the strongest oral antibiotics and it did not get rid of the last ear infection.
We are taking him in on Feb 22 to see an ENT doctor, and possibly talking about putting tubes in his ears.

He also has a "girlfriend" at day care. She is 2 1/2 and tells Ethan all the time how much she loves him and always gives him hugs, I guess she rarely leaves his side.

That is all I can think of right now. I will post some pictures tonight (hopefully).

FIRST WORD!!!

So Ethan is always babbling, so many times it sounds like he is saying mama or dada. But today he defiantly said mama!!!

He also had 2 more teeth come in, so he is up to 6 now. Two on top and four on bottom.

That's all, just excited that he is saying mama :o)

WE SURVIVED!

Well, we all survived Ethan's first Christmas. He was spoiled like we knew he would be. We have so many new toys for him! We will be putting s good majority away, and then introduce them through out the year.

We bought him the cutest outfit for Christmas, complete with his first very own clip on tie :)

He is also now pulling himself up onto anything! He loves to stand now and is attempting to take a few steps now and then. He is walking behind a wagon that he puses around the room.

We also got a new Nikon digital SLR camera!!! I can't wait to start taking some great pictures of Ethan.

9 month check up

We took Ethan into the Dr. for his 9 month check up, this time no shots!!

He is right on track developmentally.

He is 19 lbs 13 oz (47%)

29 inches (74%)

He actually lost 2 lbs since he got sick this last weekend with really bad diarrhea caused from the amoxicillin that was for his ear infections. Poor little guy!

The Dr. said we should really be pushing the sippy cup more, so we can wean him off the bottle easier when he turns 12 months. But he's not too interested.

He is crawling around everywhere! He is always on the go. He is even crawling up the the coffee table and pulling himself all the way up on his own.

As for the holidays, We are spending Christmas Eve with Nathan's dad's side, Christmas day with his mom. Then on Sat. my mom and gang are coming to our house, and my dad and the gang are coming to our house on Sun. It's gonna be a busy four days!

This past weekend we took Ethan up to Macy's in downtown Minneapolis. Every year they do a different theme. This year it is A day in the life of an elf. He also got to take his picture with Santa. Santa also had a real beard that Ethan loved to pull on, we had a hard time getting him to look at the camera instead of Santa.

We also bought our own real Christmas tree and got it decorated on Sunday. All the decorations are up as well. Also, we have ALL our Christmas presents bought!! It's nice to have that all done with.

Ethan has also finished his two seasonal and two H1N1 shots. He is now weighing in at 21 lbs. He is eating a lot if finger foods now. He also like to feed himself now. Which is nice sometimes, but that means he is growing up way too fast!

When he is on the ground he has been crawling backwards for awhile, and now he is starting to go forwards.....watch out.....he's gonna be in everything! He has been tuckering himself out lately too. He has been sleeping an average of 11 hours every night! Sometimes I wish he wouldn't go to bed soooo early :( But it's great for the weekends to sleep in!

We also gave Ethan his first hair trim. It's amazing how taking a little off the side and frint makes him look so much older. As you can see in one of the pictures, Nathan is growing a beard!
